While working as a foreman for one of the biggest landscaping companies in Michigan, Keith couldn’t understand why other crews were outperforming him even though he was working harder than almost everyone else.

A conversation with a former Marine Corps sergeant showed him the problem: working harder yourself doesn’t necessarily make the entire team more productive.

Once Keith learned to properly delegate, distribute responsibility, and focus his energy on higher-value tasks, he quickly became one of the highest-performing foremen in the company.

Today, with 18 people working across his businesses, that lesson is more important than ever.
